The Hawk II is the second-generation 24V Ni-MH battery and a direct upgrade for the Hawk I in British Army service. NSN 6140-99-510-5937. Improved power output with the same −20°C to +60°C (−50°C heated) operating range, RMBC 64/24 charger, and AMPHENOL connectors.
The Hawk II is the second generation 24 volt Nickel Metal Hydride Battery — a direct replacement for the Hawk I, which is in service with the British Army. With improved power output, this unit is one of, if not the most advanced battery in the world today: a truly smart battery in every sense of the word. With its vast range of working temperatures −20°C to 60°C (or −50°C to 60°C for the heated version), these batteries can cover all areas of deployment from the Arctic through to the Tropics. Both the outer and inside of the case have been treated with a special nylon coating which is resistant to most chemicals, including acid. A four-segment LED display shows the battery state of charge via a simple press-to-test button. A built-in analytical computer allows information to be downloaded from the battery. All plugs and sockets are AMPHENOL and are totally waterproof, complete with dust caps. The purpose designed RMBC 64/24 charging unit charges the battery in less than 5 hours. A minimum of 600 recharge cycles before cell change is required.
Second-generation design delivers improved power output over the Hawk I — maintaining backward compatibility while significantly enhancing operational performance.
Designed as a direct replacement for the Hawk I which is in service with the British Army — fully compatible with existing charging infrastructure, cables, and equipment.
Operating from −20°C to +60°C standard (or −50°C heated), covering every climate zone from Arctic operations to desert and tropical environments.
Built-in analytical computer allows battery performance data to be downloaded at any time, supporting maintenance schedules and fleet readiness management.
Inner and outer surfaces treated with specialist nylon coating resistant to most chemicals including acids.
Minimum 600 full recharges before cell change is required, with further cycles achievable after cell renewal — maximising total operational life.
The Hawk II is a direct upgrade for the Hawk I currently in British Army service — improved power output with full compatibility with existing RMBC 64/24 charging infrastructure and cable systems.
The optional heated variant extends the lower operating limit to −50°C, one of the broadest ranges of any 24V battery system in its class.
Tested globally, this product covers every area of operations without performance compromise in any climatic zone.
Heated version extends operation to −50°C, meeting the requirements of Arctic warfare and high-altitude cold-weather deployments.
Fully operational at +60°C across desert and tropical environments, ensuring consistent performance in the hottest operational theatres.
Waterproof AMPHENOL connectors with dust caps provide robust sealing against moisture and particulates in all field conditions.
Nylon-coated casing resistant to most chemicals including acid, enabling safe decontamination in CBRN environments.
